Amer/Can/UKC Ch. Hearthside Think Different - "MAC"
Mac is my first conformation champion from my breeding. He is an awesome boy with lots of character. He is first and foremost my daughter's dog. Amanda trained him from a baby to be her "Junior Handler" dog in conformation. They have an incredible bond. Many years after they have retired from juniors she still brings him out occasionally at specialty shows to show in the "Veterans" category. Mac loves showing and is a fan favorite. The last show they did was at Cobo Hall in 2012 and Mac took Best Veteran in Show, and a Judges Award of Merit at the age of 11 1/2 years. For fun he and Amanda will go running where he can still easily go 2 miles.
Hearthside's Baby Needs New Shoes, RE, CGC - "GAMBLE"
Gamble is my first rally/obedience dog. He is a joy to work with and train. He flew threw the rally courses with multiple scores of 100 to pick up his Rally Novice, Advanced and Excellent titles. We are now working on obedience titles. He has a sweet, gentle personality and simply adores women. He could very easily be a therapy dog if I had more hours in my day.
Hearthside's Napoleon Complex, NA, NAJ~ "LEO"
Leo would have made a great service dog. He is extremely intelligent
and eager to please - volunteering to help with housework such as
bringing in groceries or taking out trash. He learned that doorknobs
make doors open by watching us, and will touch a doorknob or handle if
he wants a door to open. He took to agility like a duck to water, quickly earning his Novice Agility and Novice Jumpers with Weaves titles
before retiring after an injury. He is currently putting his calm
nature and love of people to good work as a Therapy Dog at Henry Ford
Wyandotte Hospital. He's been featured in several hospital promotions
including their facebook page, newsletter and a new patient video! He
was also a very popular attendant at the Henry Ford Health System's
Quality Exposition in November 2012 where the new Pet Therapy program
for Wyandotte Hospital was one of the presented projects. He made a lot
of new friends that day and helped educate a number of Physicians,
Nurses, Administrators, Visitors and other Staff and Employees about pet
therapy and its many benefits. Leo's mother Keely would also have made
a wonderful therapy dog with her laid back demeanor. It does run in
the family - one of Leo's brothers is a therapy dog in Canada, visiting
nursing homes and starting a reading program at a local school.
