Welcome to Sky Harbor Golden Retrievers. We are very proud of our dogs and hope you enjoy meeting them. My name is Dani Noto and I got my first golden retriever in 1987 and was hooked. Abbey was an amazing dog with a truly golden temperament. She was an important part of my family’s lives and started me on an amazing journey.
In 1999, I got my dog who became the foundation for what is now Sky Harbor Golden Retrievers. PicaMarie came to me at eight weeks. She was going to be my first “conformation” show dog. She had other plans, however. Pica hated the show ring, hated competing and wanted nothing more than to be my pet. She loved laying at my feet and just being with me. So, what to do? I decided to breed her and I had found her niche. She was an amazing mom (and later grandmother) who produced beautiful puppies. Puppies who became wonderful pets, and puppies who went on to be amazing show dogs and enjoyed competing. Her legacy is what you see in the following pages.
In 2002, I sold a puppy to Karen Bell. Karen has since become a very dear friend and has joined me here at Sky Harbor. We have joined together to train, compete and breed golden retrievers. We have participated and titled dogs in multiple venues, including conformation, agility, obedience, rally, and are working on hunt tests and working certificate tests. While we value, respect and encourage our dogs’ versatility, they are first and foremost our family pets and companions.
We take pride in our limited breeding program and encourage inquiries. Both parents utilized in our breeding program possess OFA hip, elbow, heart and eye clearances. We breed for sound health and temperament above all while striving for the best in each and every breeding. Our dogs live in our houses and are members of our families. All our puppies are raised in our houses until they go to their new homes. We take this responsibility seriously because the future of the golden retriever breed depends on the decisions that we breeders make today.
Our husbands play an important part in helping us be successful. While they don’t compete in dog activities, they help out by encouraging and supporting us, and taking care of everyone left at home when we travel to shows.
We hope you enjoy getting to know our dogs. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
